FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Many pharmaceutical companies offer assistance programs, including reduced co-pays and complementary supplemental products.. If you begin a new medication, be sure to check and see what assistance programs are available. Some of these programs require annual re-enrollment. Click links below for current requirements to see if you qualify.
Healthwell Foundation
HealthWell is a financial assistance program for many Cystic Fibrosis medications and nutritional supplements. Families in a certain income bracket may qualify for HealthWell (up to 500% of the Federal Poverty Level).

Genetech — PULMOZYME CO-PAY ASSISTANCE

Co-pay assistance to help cover additional out-of-pocket costs for Pulmozyme, after you pay $30 for each 30-day supply (Maximum $10,000/year)

​Eligibility:
  • Are taking Pulmozyme for an FDA-approved use
  • Have commercial (private or non-governmental) insurance
  • Live and receive treatment in the US or US territories
  • Are not receiving assistance through the Genentech Patient Foundation or any other charitable organization for the same expense

COUNSELING SUPPORT

Children and adults with CF as well as their family members (parents, siblings, spouses/partners) are eligible to receive financial support for six individual therapy sessions per year with a licensed provider of their choice. CFRI will cover the cost of your insurance co-pay for six sessions, or pay up to $125 per session for six sessions if you have no insurance, or your provider does not accept insurance or is outside of your network.

MEDICAL, EMERGENCY & TRANSPLANT SUPPORT

Often insurance does not cover many of the treatments, medications and additional medical necessities required to keep children and young adults battling life-threatening illnesses alive. Many families are faced with the choice of either paying for crucial medical treatments for their children or their ongoing living expenses.

​Ellie’s Army provides the funds necessary to help increase the chances of survival for these children and young adults battling critical illness while relieving the ongoing stress of not being able to afford the basic necessities of living.

BOOMER ESIASON FOUNDATION (BEF)
​FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FUND

Often, for reasons beyond control, financial obligations can lead to distress. The Boomer Esiason Foundation is committed to providing individuals and families with the assistance needed to achieve stability in times of need. BEF’s goal is to be a temporary resource when its most critical. Sometimes things happen for which you cannot plan. If you are in financial hardship and can’t meet your obligations, please consider applying for BEF’s Financial Hardship Assistance Grant to alleviate the stress and to help to get back on track.

BOOMER ESIASON FOUNDATION (BEF)
​CYSTIC FIBROSIS IVF GRANT PROGRAM

Unsurprisingly, the greatest barrier to family building in the CF community is often cost. The Boomer Esiason Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the BEF IVF Grant Program. The BEF IVF Grant Program is dedicated to ensuring that adults with CF who are challenged in their family building journey have financial resources to utilize assisted reproductive technology. BEF has partnered with Kindbody to facilitate the delivery of IVF services to grant awardees.

BOOMER ESIASON FOUNDATION (BEF)
​LUNG TRANSPLANT GRANT PROGRAM

While the cost of transplantation is typically covered by most insurance companies, travel and relocation costs are typically absorbed by the patient’s families. The BEF Lung Transplant Grant Program is one way the Foundation works to give back to people with CF in the here and now, by helping families pay for the expenses that are not covered by their insurance.

THE CYSTIC DREAMS FUND

The Cystic Dreams Fund provides general financial assistance through assistance grants to individuals and families struggling with the costs associated with cystic fibrosis. Assistance grants are usually issued in the form of direct payments to outstanding bills. An applicant must be the parent or legal guardian of a minor child with cystic fibrosis or an adult with cystic fibrosis.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be the parent or legal guardian of a minor child with CF or be an adult with CF
  • Verification of CF status from a clinic, doctor, coordinator, or social worker
  • Verification of bill for which you are requesting financial assistance (mortgage, rent, car payments, or fertility treatment bills are not accepted)
